Bangkok 2012: Day Two

Slept at @Hua Lamphong Hotel was good! The room are nice and clean. But, no breakfast are provided. So, you need to have a place to get a breakfast with extra cost! As a backpackers, It is better to get a place that are cheap, safe, clean, have WIFI and include breakfast! I would suggest a place with below than 10 USD (dorm) per night is excellent if they can provide these.

On our second day, we pack our things since on our last night we were looking for a cheaper place. (I didnt mentioned in my previous post), we found another place nearby which cost us 690 Baht per night with breakfast! I think this is great! So what we do, we pack our things, check out and leave our backpack at @Hua Lamphong Hotel until we get back from Chat Tu Chak Weekend Market.

Our aim for today is Chat Tu Chak Weekend Market! This market is well-knowned for cheaper price and variaties selections. Just name it! You will be able to get it here! And I like this place so much, because its cheap and most of things here are Made in Thailand! The originality is here! One good thing about this place, once you step here (only on weekend) you can mention to others that you have been to on of the biggest market in the world! It is obviously bigger than Wakaf Che Yeh night market!  You will see the there are a lot of money changers here and public toilets!  If you only bring 500 Baht to shop here, you will be regret! So, makesure to bring a lot of cash! Credit Card is also acceptable here!

-MRT Cha Tu Chak Park-

How to get to Cha Tu Chak Weekend Market?
Its better to take a MRT to here. The nearest station is Cha Tu Chak Park. The station is almost 500 meters away from the market. But then, all the way (I think almost 1 KM) you will see a lot of people selling their stuff at the road side, the traffic is pack with peoples and vehicle! Can you imagine?
The cost from Hua Lamphong  to Cha Tu Chak Park (Cha Tu Chak Weekend Market) is only 40 Baht one way!
Tips at Cha Tu Chak Weekend Market:
Please bargain!
Dont eat at the Muslim Stall here, if Im not mistaken the stall name Saman. I think the price is nuts!
The food we ate, (pictures here) is 580 Baht.

-580 Baht, I think this is expensive if we compare to other restaurant-

Around lunch hour, we head back to our hotel, this time, we change our place to another guesthouse. Baan Hua Lamphong Guest House. This gueshouse is much cheaper. 690 Baht, with A/C and private bathroom, breakfast included and free WIFI. So far, I think this place is just okay. But, it is better to get another gueshouse. If you check from the internet, the review for this gueshouse is so bad. I might admit some of the reviews are overrated.

After check-in here, we went out to another place called Siam Paragon! This place is awesome! Siam Paragon is a luxury mall. You may found the Jimmy Choo, PRADA, LV, HERMES ... etc ...  I wish that I could have a lot of money to shop here! :(

We had our dinner here for the cost of 300 Baht and it is cheaper than the one we ate the Cha Tu Chak Weekend Market. This stall is Halal but then, after eating, we found out that the plate, spoon and fork are mix up with other Non-Halal stuff!

-300 Baht at Siam Paragon-

As a backpacker, Siam Paragon is just a place to hang out, maybe for a few hours. Here, you may see the urban life of a youngster and/or the life of the fabulous lane for the rich in Bangkok. There is a night market near to the BTS Station here.

How to get to Siam Paragon?
The nearest station is Siam by BTS (Skytrain). Well, for those who are familiar with the city-train in your home country, you may find on how to get here easily without map!
What are the attraction of Siam Paragon?
1. Madame Taussuds (Salah eja eh)
2. Siam Ocean World
3. Famous Brand Outlet, you name it!
4. Street Night Market near to this station

I remembered when I was in Shenzhen, China, I think the Grand Central Station there is much more luxury than here! You may see the Famous and Well-Known Outlet as an individual lot. Pergh!

-I wish I could have money to squizze in and q ...-
After that, we went back to Silom. I wish to see the LadyBoy show, you know Bangkok-Must-See!
The place is open at 2230hrs and closed at 0300hrs. Next time maybe! We were too tired to wait until 2230hrs!

New info, I think this hotel, the one that I stay now is very annoying! I just sleep one night here, and this morning after breakfast, he asked if it is okay to get payment for the other nights. I said okay and I will pay once I will go out later, within 30 minutes, he knocks my door and asked for the payment. Well, you may find the review about this from other customers and it is true!

  3. i thought the stalls at jatujak - yg halal tu- was good, pretty authentic and the pricing ok lah... it is a must place to go whenever i go to Bangkok. Selalunya have breakfast (brunch) and late lunch before balik hotel. 2 servings everytime g sana. Tak sure apa nama stall tu, but the one yg dekat sebelah jam besar (central jatujak).

  4. sory guys,

saya terima notifications email korang masa saya tgh backpack di China.

Aesha, saya spend dalam 200 USD utk makan, transport dan accomodation. Tapi ada lagi murah!
    Nantikan post latest saya k!

Zal, kedai makanan Islam yang tepi jam besar tu memang nampak best dan makanan die memang best. Cuma saya tak berapa nak advice makan kat situ.
Bagi saya, harganya agak melampau ...
Paling murah saya jumpa, dekat dengan Hua Lamphong Train Station, sekali makan hanya RM5 maximum!

MAnILa: CatATAn PerTAmA!

Nota Pertama: Penerbangan ku pada jam 1340 waktu tempatan. dari pintu C17, KLIA, perasaan ku sedikit cuak. Bimbang. Takut.
